According to ancient scriptures, Gautama Buddha entrusted the Surangama Sutra to the Bodhisattva Manjushri, for safe keeping and for the transmission of its contents far and wide. It was believed that the survival of Buddhism and humanity, would one day rest solely on this text.
This Shurangama Sutra Medallion is engraved with the entire Surangama Sutra in a circular format. On one side it features the sutra in the Siddham script and on the other the sutra in Traditional Chinese.
The edges of this Shurangama Sutra Medallion are embroidered in auspicious clouds. This medallion is made of pure 990 silver.
