From Awakening to Mantrapiece
Unlike most businesses, Mantrapiece didn't start with a business plan. Instead, it started with a panic attack.
In 2017, I experienced a breakdown, which, to my surprise, ended up being a breakthrough. After years of depression, a simple guided meditation cracked something open inside me. What poured through was a stillness I'd never known, or at least had long forgotten. Buddhists might call it awakening. Others call it ego death. All I know is that it changed how I see everything.
You can read my spiritual awakening story to understand how that day reshaped my life.
From that moment on, going back to life as usual wasn't an option. The mechanism that allowed me to see the world as I used to was gone. To put it more simply, a tree was no longer a tree. A flower was no longer a flower. It was as if everything I had been taught to believe became a fairytale of sorts. Words became labels for things we can't possibly understand.
Soon after, I found myself drawn to ancient Buddhist teachings. The wisdom contained in them showed me that I wasn't alone in what had happened. Others, including the Buddha, had experienced an awakening of their own.
Over time, my fascination with these teachings led me to buy jewelry etched with mantras and sacred symbols. Wearing them served as a reminder that there is an end to suffering. Then one day I looked at my growing collection and had an epiphany. Others were suffering the way I had been. Maybe these pieces could help them find their way back too. That thought became Mantrapiece. You can read the story behind the name here.
Honestly, I never intended to start a brand. All I did was follow my heart, and this is where it has taken me. But I guess that's life, isn't it? You never know where your path will lead. Either way, this brand was built for anyone going through something hard and, of course, for seekers. If that's you, you're in the right place.
