The Tibetans believe that when a lotus seed ages to a very dark color, it has become enlightened. And so, when worn it can gradually guide the wearer to spiritual enlightenment. The spiritual significance of the lotus seed is just like that of the auspicious lotus flower. The lotus flower emerges and blossoms in filthy water. And so the lotus seed symbolizes spiritual growth and the ability to rise above all obstacles. It is believed that the lotus seed will promote spiritual growth for the wearer and aid them in rising above all obstacles.
This antique Tibetan Mala is made with 100% authentic antique Tibetan lotus seeds. It has been pre-used in various types of spiritual and Buddhist practices for over a generation in Tibet. Overtime, these lotus seeds have aged to a vibrant dark yellow and brown color. The lotus seeds on this Old Tibetan Mala have been cleaned and re-strung in Tibet, with durable blue colored rope and a tassel.
