The Tibetan Gau is a small box or amulet container traditionally used by Tibetan Buddhists as a reliquary to hold and carry sacred objects such as an image of their personal deity along with other holy objects or blessed items. Traditionally, the Tibetans carried these gaus close to their hearts as a source of protection and blessings.
