At Mantrapiece, we carry some of the rarest Malas in the world. With this in mind, we source most of them from rural villages in Nepal and Tibet. As a result of this, these strands of beads have been around for decades. They have seen their fair share of human suffering, as well as human triumph over suffering. For this reason, each of them is charged and energized with lifetimes of spiritual energy. At the same time, they have helped many practitioners in attaining enlightenment. Thus, they lie in wait to aid the next practitioner in their journey to enlightenmet as well.
Mala is a word in Sanskrit which means "garland". It is a string of beads made of wood, seeds or gemstones which are strung on rope. These sting of beads consist of about 108 beads or any factor of 108, which may or may not include a guru bead.
Since ancient times, people used Buddhist prayer beads to keep the mind focused and clear of thoughts during meditation. Likewise, people use them to keep count of mantra recitations. As well as for doing yoga, praying and reflecting. At the same time, people wear them as a reminder of their intentions. So, if you wear your mala throughout the day, it can serve as a constant reminder of how you want to live your life. Furthermore, people wear Malas as a way to express their faith to the world. Or as a form of fashion accessory.
Depending on the region, Malas are also referred to as mala beads, mala necklaces or japamalas. However, the most common term are prayer beads. Yet, each term emphasizes their unique function and significance in meditation and prayer.
It's easy to forget to take a moment to relax. One way to help you remember to stay calm is by wearing a mala. Buddhist meditation beads can also bring lots of benefits into your life. With this in mind, depending on the type of beads, depends on what benefits you can receive. Different wood, seeds and gemstones offer different benefits. All in all, if you're looking for a way to bring mindfulness into your life, our Malas are a great option.
